The Google Pixel Watch 3 is set to impress with a range of enhanced features and improvements. According to leaked promotional materials, the new smartwatch will boast a peak brightness of 2,000 nits, ensuring excellent visibility even in bright sunlight. The Pixel Watch 3 will come in two sizes: 41mm and 45mm.
The 41mm model will charge 20% faster than its predecessor, while the 45mm version is a new addition to the lineup. Both models will offer up to 24 hours of battery life with the always-on display enabled, or up to 36 hours using the new Battery Saver mode. In terms of design, the Pixel Watch 3 will feature thinner bezels compared to the previous generation.
The 41mm model will offer 10% more screen space, providing users with a more immersive experience. The unboxing experience remains similar to previous models, with the watch, band, and a USB-C charger included in the box. Each model will also come with two band lengths – small and large – to accommodate different wrist sizes.
Pixel Watch 3 design improvements
Google has introduced several new features to enhance convenience and health tracking. Users will now be able to view their Nest Doorbell and Camera feeds directly on their wrist, allowing them to monitor deliveries or movement around their home without the need to pick up their phone.
The Pixel Watch 3 also includes a new “Morning Brief” feature, which provides a summary of essential health and fitness metrics each morning, such as sleep quality and readiness score. For fitness enthusiasts, particularly runners, the watch adds a Cardio Load feature that tracks the strain placed on the heart. It also offers custom run building, saved workout access, and insights on cadence, stride, and vertical oscillation.
Audio and haptic cues are available to guide users through sprinting, cooling down, and maintaining pace. The Google Pixel Watch 3 is expected to be officially announced at the Made by Google event on August 13, alongside other potential new releases. The starting price for the new watch is rumored to be consistent with the Pixel Watch 2, at $349 / £349 / AU$549.
